CHI-CAP IN THE COMMUNITY

Chicago Capital was pleased to donate school supplies to fill 1,000 backpacks which will be given away at the Back to School Fair organized by the Back of the Yards Neighborhood Council (BYNC) for families and residents. We met at the council headquarters to stuff the backpacks to help the neighborhood children have a good start to a new school year.

BYNC’s SSA 10 Program Manager, Fabiola Flores and Bookkeeper and Special Events Coordinator, Gisela Nevarez organize the fair every year as a way to promote family fun, health and fitness for Back of the Yards residents of all ages.

The fair will feature information about neighborhood businesses and services ranging from housing, health insurance, immunizations, pre-health screenings, vision screenings, and legal services. Cooking demonstrations with an emphasis on healthy eating, live music, dance performances, free haircuts for children and a bouncy house ensure that fun will be had by all!
